Terms of Service

Effective: 25 July 2026 · Version: 2026-07-25-v7

These Terms govern access to FindMe, a temporary consent-based location-sharing, coordination, and navigation service.

1. Operator and agreement

FindMe is operated by George Osipidis, 51 Stadiou Street, 2058 Strovolos, Nicosia, Cyprus. Questions may be sent to osipidisgeorge@gmail.com.

By creating an account or accepting the current Terms, you enter into an agreement with the operator. You also acknowledge the Privacy Policy. Privacy acknowledgement is not blanket consent to location sharing, contacts, notifications, profile photos, or advertising; those remain controlled separately.

2. Eligibility and accounts

3. Temporary location service

FindMe helps accepted participants temporarily share a current location, navigate toward a participant or controlled meeting point, compare ETAs, and coordinate arrival. An invitation, friend relationship, QR code, private code, or Findable preview does not itself authorize exact location access.

Each participant chooses whether to accept, which precision to share, and whether optional background navigation or device status is enabled. You may Stop, Quick exit, leave, reduce precision, or disable Findable Mode using the available controls. A session may remain active for other participants after you leave.

A direct Guest request submits only one selected or manually entered contact identifier. FindMe gives the Guest the same generic result whether the contact is unknown, unavailable, blocked, in Do Not Disturb, or registered. Dedicated Guest open QR and link invitations may be accepted by a registered user or another active Guest, with the first acceptance consuming the invitation. These direct sessions begin only after the recipient explicitly accepts precise sharing, are limited to two people and one hour, and end for both when either participant stops. Guest sessions created through ordinary friend, group, QR, or link controls use the selected session options and participant controls.

4. Findable Mode and invitations

Findable Mode creates a short-lived nearby presence for friends or people with a temporary private code or QR token. Before approval it does not expose an exact map position, direction, movement, or exact distance. You must not guess, harvest, publish, sell, or misuse invitation, link, code, proof, or QR credentials. The owner may reject or block any requester.

5. Navigation and meeting information

Routes, maps, traffic-independent ETAs, nearby places, arrival detection, compass data, and meeting suggestions may be incomplete, delayed, unavailable, or wrong. FindMe currently relies on collaborative map data and third-party routing. It does not provide guaranteed turn-by-turn accuracy, traffic, road-closure, public-transport, indoor, emergency, or accessibility certification.

Remain aware of surroundings, obey signs and laws, and do not interact with the app in an unsafe manner while moving or driving. Never rely on FindMe as the sole source for a route, accessibility decision, or safety-critical action.

6. Communication and acceptable use

Session chat, announcements, invitation notes, profiles, meeting-point labels, photos, and reports are user content. Interactive chat is limited to admitted session participants and is temporary.

7. Reports, blocks and enforcement

Users may block and report participants. Reports enter a manual review process and do not cause automatic punishment. FindMe may investigate, preserve limited evidence where lawful, restrict features, remove content, suspend or terminate accounts, or contact authorities when reasonably required by law or to address serious abuse. FindMe does not guarantee that all objectionable conduct will be detected or prevented.

If you leave or are removed from a session, access to current participant data ends. Ended chat is read-only for a short grace period before deletion.

8. Emergency and safety disclaimer

FindMe is not an emergency service, personal-security service, monitoring centre, or substitute for emergency contacts. Notifications, location, arrival, network, battery, GPS, and check-in information may be delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. FindMe does not guarantee that another participant will see or act on information.

Request help is optional non-emergency coordination. Trusted recipients and eligible nearby friends may be offline, unavailable, unwilling, or unable to respond. The words Request sent mean only that FindMe attempted delivery; Responding appears only after a person explicitly accepts. Request help must not be used for hoaxes, harassment, false emergencies, or to expose another person's location.

If you are in immediate danger, contact the local emergency services directly. Do not use FindMe to secretly monitor someone or as proof that a person is safe.

9. Advertising and third-party services

FindMe is currently free and advertising-supported. Advertising is requested only when the applicable Google consent system permits it. FindMe may change, limit, or discontinue advertising or free features with reasonable notice where practicable.

Firebase, Google Mobile Ads, openrouteservice, OpenStreetMap, OpenFreeMap, Apple, Google Play, device operating systems, and other third-party services have their own terms. Their availability and content are not controlled by FindMe. Open map data remains subject to its applicable licences and attribution requirements.

10. Intellectual property and licence

Subject to these Terms, FindMe grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for lawful personal coordination. FindMe software, branding and original interface content remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law. User content remains yours, but you grant FindMe the limited rights necessary to transmit, display, moderate and temporarily store it for the requested session and service operation.

Open-source software and open map data remain governed by their own licences, available through the Open-source licenses page and provider attribution.

11. Availability, warranties and liability

FindMe is provided on an as-available basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, no promise is made that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, always secure, or suitable for a particular meeting, route, accessibility need, or device. Maintenance, connectivity, GPS, battery restrictions, provider limits, or legal requirements may interrupt features.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights or liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury where exclusion is prohibited. Subject to those rights, FindMe is not responsible for indirect or unforeseeable loss, conduct of other users, missed meetings, unsafe decisions, map or route errors, or failure of external providers.

12. Suspension, termination and deletion

You may stop using FindMe and delete your account. FindMe may suspend or terminate access for material or repeated violations, security risk, unlawful use, provider requirements, or discontinuation of the service. Where appropriate and lawful, notice and an opportunity to contact support will be provided. Account deletion is irreversible and removes associated FindMe data as described in the Privacy Policy.

13. Changes to these Terms

Material changes require a new Terms version and renewed acceptance before continued app access. Non-material corrections may be published with an updated date. If you do not accept a required update, you may sign out or delete your account.

14. Governing law and language

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus and applicable European Union law. Courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction, but this does not remove mandatory consumer protections or jurisdiction available in the country where a consumer habitually resides. The service must not be used where its use is unlawful.

English is the controlling version where legally permitted. The Greek translation is provided for accessibility and is intended to have the same meaning. Mandatory local-language and consumer-law protections prevail where required.

15. Contact
